Dr. Navarrete-Carroll is a dedicated neuropsychological fellow in the Justice in Criminal Neuropsychologist (JCN) and Conservatorship Assessment Training (CAT) programs at UCLA. He holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton.
Dr. Navarrete-Carroll’s professional experience is diverse, spanning various clinical settings including outpatient and inpatient medical centers, community mental health clinics and programs, and substance abuse rehabilitation centers. His work has focused on helping high-risk populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. As a bilingual clinician proficient in both English and Spanish, he offers comprehensive services in both languages. His clinical expertise extends to conducting neuropsychological assessments and delivering psychotherapy services to patients across their lifespan, including those with a range of medical, neurological, and psychiatric conditions.
Dr. Navarrete-Carroll has received extensive training in a variety of evidence-based treatments, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Functional Family Therapy (FFT), Incredible Years (IY), Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) across individual, family, and group modalities. His training has included diverse experiences at institutions such as Kaiser Permanente, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Hoag Hospital Medical Center, DBT Center of Orange County, and the Cultural Neuropsychology Program (CNP) at UCLA.
